CFOTL: Our final question—What are your priorities as a finance leader over the next 12 months?
Moore: I pick adding discipline to a process, and I don’t want to imply that there’s not discipline here. I want to add a view of looking at a forward planning process where we can link strategy in our annual operating plan together. And also link IT strategies, marketing strategies.
It’s just really trying to put a sense of one structure around … everybody aligned around an operating plan that’s tied into a long-term strategic plan. That’s really where I am trying to move into and push into at this point, again … push. Also, I am trying to move finance from being a traditional to a more focused, value-added strategic partner versus being a transactional type of side.
And at the same time, also helping other functions within the company be successful. Providing data, providing partnership, even providing counsel in some cases. But really partnering up with the rest of the organization as well. That’s really my goal in this. If we can do all that, we are going to successful. If we can execute our existing strategy. If I can partner up with these other ones, other functions, and we can align finance more to a value-added process, I think that we will be very successful. ¤
